Rachel's Professional Experience

With over 20 years professional experience Rachel trained as a Coloratura Soprano in the techniques of Madie Mesple (Paris Opera) and with Korrepetitors of St Pauls Cathedral and the Vienna State Opera. She enjoyed a prestigious stage career spanning a soloist role in Lloyd Webber's ‘Phantom of the Opera’ and starring at the Vienna Stadium leading cast members of Cats, Evita, A Chorus Line, Jesus Christ Superstar and Les Misérables. She continued to appear in Musical Galas at promenant venues throughout Europe as well as performing at many of Vienna's state theatres and palaces.  

On developing her range of vocal styles to popular music her career progressed to a contract as a lead singer with Bogner Records in Germany, consequently appearing in numerous festivals, TV shows (ORF/DDR) and BBC radio. In addition she has worked on music videos and CD productions for artists such as
Oasis, Ben E. King and Freddy Mercury.

Alongside her singing career, her work as a vocal trainer has included coaching some of the first Pop Idol TV show candidates in Vienna where she also established the highly successful StarVoice vocal training studio. She has also held various performing arts and singing teaching positions over the years and currently trains the vocalists as an Associate Lecturer in the Popular Music Performance degree programme at Southampton Solent University.
